If you think about it, tabletop games and video games really are one and the same. Both tell stories, and both allow you to get to play as characters you love. Now, a gaming company merger between Wizards of the Coast and Tuque Games has those worlds colliding!

We will now get that gaming experience again, in a new way, hopefully in the near future. Washington State-based Wizards Of The Coast has acquired Montreal based game developer Tuque Games. Tuque Games is perhaps best known for Livelock. Livelock is an incredibly popular, top-down shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world. You can see an example of the game below:

And this acquisition comes at a great time. Tuque Games announced earlier this year that they are working on a new Dungeons & Dragons video game. Their new game will be in great company with other amazing D&D based video games already on the market.

That massive list of D&D video games include:

  • Dungeons And Dragons Online
  • Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition
  • Baldur’s Gate II Enhanced Edition
  • Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition
  • Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition
  • Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition
  • Siege Of Dragonspear
  • Lords Of Waterdeep
  • Idle Champions Of The Forgotten Realms
  • Tales From Candlekeep: Tomb Of Annihilation
  • Neverwinter
  • Warriors Of Waterdeep

This new game from Tuque Games will be in great company upon release. As for what D&D story it will be based on, no details have been revealed just yet.
