The Duffer Brothers have answered all Stranger Things fans’ prayers by announcing the coming of a new season. Our cast of lovable nerds came out to social media to share the trailer and took the world by storm. The season finale of Season 3 left many questions unanswered, with the biggest one being whats next? Well, now we get our first glimpse at Stranger Things Season 4 !
Due to the events that occurred in the final episode of the last season, some fans can’t shake the feeling that it feels like a farewell. With Hopper gone and the Byers and Eleven moving away, things seem to be resolved in Hawkins. Not until the after-credits did we realize there is trouble still to come… in Season 4.
Stranger Things Season 4: Trailer Description
At the end of the brand new Stranger Things Season 4 trailer we get some clues of what to expect from this new season. First, we get the iconic opening title to Stranger Things. As usual, this time with a 4, hinting the new season. The title glitches before it’s transported to the upside-down. Third, the 4 gets absorbed and becomes part of the upside-down. Finally follows with big white letters that say” we are not in Hawkins anymore”.
We are not in Hawkins anymore?
Fans have taken this sentence to indicate that we will not be returning to Hawking for this new adventure. In the season finale, the show gave us a peek at a Russian lab similar to the ones seen in previous seasons in Hawkins. This could lead the plot to circulating in an attempt to shoot down that Upside-down lab to destroy another threat.
That’s not enough proof that we are done with our little town of Hawkins, however. The return of the show indicates the return of our favorite characters. Even with Eleven and the Byers gone, the rest of the gang of Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Nancy and Steve all still live in Hawkins. Not to mention the third season added new members to the gang such as Erica, Robin, and Murry. Due to all these characters still living in Hawkins, it would be hard to imagine a scenario where they would all go to Russia or another city. We fully expect a possible final battle in the town that started it all.
The new title in the trailer teases the idea that these characters will probably have to go somewhere new to battle this upcoming threat. Perhaps this is a new place for them but not for us. Will and Eleven are one of the only ones who have been to the upside-down. That indicates that, for the rest of the gang, the upside-down is a completely new and terrifying land. If this Season 4 might be a final goodbye, The Duffer Brothers may want to give the fans a final battle in the bad guy’s turf.
Personal thoughts: What fans want to see in Stranger Things Season 4
Beyond exiting news! Season 3 has only been out for a couple of months and fans weren’t expecting to hear from the show for at least a year. As a matter of fact, some could argue they were going to come back at all. This news has everyone talking and speculating about the new adventure of the Stranger Things gang. With theories that go from it taking place at Thanksgiving, to Hopper being possibly alive, this is great time to drop this announcement.
Their last season being a success, there was no question the Duffer Brothers would try to continue Stranger Things. With the actors getting older the show might not want to risk years until they shoot another season. The difference in their appearance from Season 2 to Season 3 is very noticeable; The Duffers have to strike now while the proverbial iron is still hot.
For now, all we can do is wait by our walkie talkies and wait for the next call to return to the upside-down. More than anything fans just want to see our favorite group of misfits kick-ass one more time in Stranger Things Season 4 .
