PAC vs. Kenny Omega will be happening in an AEW ring sooner than later. After Jon Moxley’s twitter announcement that he’ll need surgery to remove a bursa sac in his elbow, ALL OUT was short an opponent for Kenny Omega. AEW quickly announced that PAC would now be facing Omega. While fans are disappointed that Moxley/Omega will not be happening, the former Neville is not to be considered a replacement.
This will be “take two” for PAC with All Elite Wrestling. He was part of their big Jacksonville Rally when the company announced Double Or Nothing. He made the challenge to “Hangman” Adam Page. The match was set to happen, and then less than a week before the event it was cancelled. The reasoning behind that was in line with what PAC had been doing since he left WWE. He hadn’t been beaten, and he made sure of that. PAC had been the Open the Dream Gate Champion for 229 days. He was never beaten throughout the independents during this run.
So AEW couldn’t come to terms on creative with PAC, but they never shut the door on him eventually appearing in the company. PAC was just recently defeated by Ben-K at DragonGate’s Kobe Puroresu Festival 2019 in a fantastic match. PAC had finally lost, and his mission of building the championship had been completed.
This is, to the best of my knowledge, the first time these two have shared a wrestling ring. While it doesn’t have the build that Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega had, it’s still a fantastic match. CODY also took to twitter to let fans know that Omega/Moxley WILL happen, just later than expected.
