Marvel revealed their Phase 4 slate a few weeks ago at Comic-Con. And one film was noticeably absent from the slate: Black Panther 2. One has to think why they wouldn’t include a film like that. The other films in Phase 4 seem very cosmic, so it would be nice for them to have a film and a character that is more grounded.
It’s inevitable that Black Panther 2 will be released sometime in the next few years. We know all of the main cast will be returning for the sequel. And now it seems like another character will be returning for the second installment as well.
Martin Freeman had recently spoken with Collider about his new film, Ode To Joy. While talking about the film he mentioned this:
“As far as I know, I will be [returning]. As far as I know, I will be in another Black Panther. That’s my understanding. As to when that will happen, I don’t know.”
Now, this is interesting because we haven’t heard much information about Black Panther 2. All we know so far is that the sequel will be happening in the new couple of years. Hopefully, Marvel Studios will announce the details for the film soon.
A sequel to the first film would be huge for fans of Marvel and Disney alike. Black Panther was a landmark film that allowed for representation of African-Americans to be seen in superhero films.
