The Bullet Club has it’s newest member. At the G1 Climax Finals, KENTA turned on his mentor Katsuyori Shibata. During a tag match between KENTA, YOSHI-HASHI, and Tomohiro Ishii, and Bad Luck Fale and the Guerillas of Destiny, KENTA showed his true colors.
The former Hideo Itami in WWE, was reintroduced to the NJPW crowd two months ago by Shibata. Since then, he has competed in the G1 Climax tournament and this tag match. During the match, he left his partners out to dry when tagged in. After the match, Shibata ran down to the ring to see what was with KENTA. KENTA blindsided him and hit him the the GTS to cap off his turn to evil.
The Bullet Club has now had members such as: Finn Balor, AJ Styles, Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, Jay White, Adam Page, and Adam Cole. KENTA is another in that line of stars to make the jump to the faction.
Other News from the G1
Other than the G1 winner being crowned and KENTA turning on his mentor, there was a bunch of other stories from the tournament.
Jon Moxley continues his free fall after starting off the tournament hot. It looked like NJPW was going to have an outsider of their company be in the G1 Finals after starting off his run at 5-0. Moxley lost and lost some more to even out his record. These losses guaranteed that he wouldn’t be moving on from his block into the finals. Losses to Jay White and a redemptive loss to Juice Robinson made sure of that.
This G1 was a pretty thrilling tournament to decide the challenger for the IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
