The Eternals are a race of immortal aliens that were sent by the Celestials to protect humankind from the Deviants. What makes this film different is that The Eternals is taking place a million years before all the other MCU movies. Here is what Director Chloe Zhao had to say:

“It’s about this group of incredible immortals. Through their journey we really get to explore what it means to be human and humanity on our time on this planet,”
