GREMLINS: SECRETS OF THE MOGWAI
Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation has issued an official press release. This press release has added some new details from the original announcement back in February. Some of what we already knew was that GREMLINS: SECERETS OF THE MOGWAI is being written and produced by Tze Chun. This is what else we got today along with the title:
Set in 1920s Shanghai, the series will tell the story of how 10-year-old Sam Wing (future shop owner Mr. Wing in the 1984 movie) met the young Mogwai called Gizmo. Along with a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam and Gizmo take a perilous journey through the Chinese countryside, encountering, and sometimes battling, colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore. On their quest to return Gizmo to his family and uncover a legendary treasure, they are pursued by a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins.
Some familiar faces
How cool is it that we are getting this this Gremlins animated prequel TV adaptation? What I like is that they are going back to some of the characters that we remember from the movies like Mr. Wing and of course the cute little fluff ball Gizmo. It also looks like we will be getting a few new ones as well. A young thief named Elle and also a growing army of evil Gremlins.
We want to hear from you.
With all these announcements of a lot of our favorite Eighties movies and cartons coming back on the big screen and comics what is there not to be excited about? Are you excited about this Gremlins series? What other movies or series are you excited about?
