Keanu Reeves is a very busy man. John Wick 3 is already in theaters and dusting the majority of the competition. In 2020 he’ll return to his most excellent roots in a third Bill & Ted adventure. Before that, however, fans can hear his voice in Toy Story 4 as of June 21. And, as we exclusively reported here at That Hashtag Show, Reeves will join the Fast & Furious franchise in the upcoming Hobbs & Shaw spin-off, due out August 2. Now he seems poised to join yet another storied franchise with Marvel’s The Eternals.
If what MCU Cosmic tells us is true, Marvel is courting Keanu Reeves to join the cast of Marvel’s The Eternals. It seems that negotiations are still under way. Notwithstanding, casting news like this usually doesn’t break without some degree of truth. Reeves would add his talents to an already impressive cast if he were to join The Eternals. That cast includes Angelina Jolie (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil), Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden, and comedian Kumail Nanjiani.

While many familiar with the comic series are excited about Keanu Reeves joining the cast, most casual comic fans, or new fans thanks to the MCU, are wondering who the Eternals are in the first place. There is no word yet on which of the Eternals Keanu Reeves would play, but for most it doesn’t really matter. The mere fact that the Matrix and John Wick star may be joining the cast will be more than enough to lure even the aforementioned casual fans to theaters. Likewise, this won’t be the actor’s first foray into comic book films, either. Don’t forget his role in DC’s Constantine, which spawned a follow-up television series.
