Natasha Romanoff happens to be one of the most respected Avengers. Are you eagerly awaiting details regarding her standalone Black Widow film? Well, it looks as if filming has already begun!

Widely believed to begin production in June this year, it would seem that filming is underway for Marvel and Disney’s Black Widow. As if to confirm rumours, local newspapers (The Sunnmørsposten and the Dagbladet) have reported seeing Scarlett Johansson out and about in Norway.

Where could ‘Black Widow’ feature in the MCU timeline?

Natasha Romanoffs auburn hair being blonde could indicate that the film will take place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame. And, after watching Endgame, we can assume this Avengers-related film will be a prequel. However we do know not to presume anything in the Marvel universe. They do like to keep us on our toes!

“From what we know now, it seems like this is a prequel within a prequel. The majority of the story taking place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame, but with flashbacks of Natasha’s past in Russia and the Red Room.”

In addition, trucks printed with ‘Blue Bayou‘ in Russian were seen travelling around Norway. Coincidentally, this happens to be the working title of… You guessed it! Black Widow. Perhaps we might see Natasha begin her training. Up to this point, all we have is flashbacks from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Hopefully Black Widow could elaborate on this period of her life. Maybe there will be a chance to see more of her and Hawkeye? I firmly believe she has the most interesting backstory of the Avengers. In the meantime, why not read who could be cast in Black Widow whilst we wait for more updates.

What do we want from ‘Black Widow?’

Black Widow

In short, I am excited to learn more about Natasha Romanoff and Black Widow. Above all else, I believe her character suffered a huge disservice during her time as an Avenger and certainly within Endgame… In conclusion, hopefully Marvel and Disney can finally give Natasha the backstory she deserves.

We believe that a release date for Black Widow could be in May 2020. However, we are yet to hear an official date from Marvel or Disney. Here’s hoping to hear more updates soon!
