This weekend Wizards Of The Coast is holding their Dungeons & Dragons Live: The Descent live event. Today was opening day for it, and the newest adventure has been revealed.
Following last year’s announced of the Waterdeep adventures, the newest adventure is……. Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus. Both players and DMs for D&D got their first intro to Baldur’s Gate when the Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide was released.
This new adventure, set for characters that are levels 1-13, is taking players through lower level adventures in Baldur’s Gate. Lead Designer for the adventure, Adam Lee, has described Baldur’s Gate as, “the Gotham [City] of the Sword Coast.”
This new adventure starting in Baldur’s Gate is way different from last year’s adventure starting in Waterdeep. This adventure is going to be taking players straight into Hell.
Not only will this adventure introduce more of Baldur’s Gate, but it will also be introducing and opening up the massive sandbox environment of Avernus.
This new adventure and story will be promising a deep story with unforgivable betrayals, unspeakable evils, and even a fallen angel. Those who are daring to venture down into the Nine Hells can either fight to bring redemption back to Avernus. Or they can give in and corrupt themselves.
Dungeons & Dragons’ Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus is set for release on September 17th, 2019. Currently, the new adventure is up for pre-order in the D&D Beyond Marketplace. Hydro74 is designing a special game-store exclusive cover that will include the skull-shape icon of Bhaal.
