Alfred said it best in The Dark Knight “Some men just want to watch the world burn.” I realize that I am using a quote from a DC based comic book movie to report on a Marvel Cinematic Universe film, but there is unfortunately a lot of truth in that quote! That’s especially true when it comes to leaked Avengers: Endgame footage.
To be clear this article will contain ZERO spoilers or details on what the leaked Avengers: Endgame footage contained.
Leaked Avengers: Endgame Footage hits the Internet
CNBC reported yesterday that screen shots, short clips, and detailed posts about what occurs during Avengers: Endgame are surfacing on Twitter and Reddit. Those who have viewed the clip have called it “spoiler heavy.”
The leaked footage was subtitled in Arabic and appears to have been recorded during a screening of the film.
Additionally, it is being reported that some links on Twitter are tricking fans into clicking apparent spoiler free links only to discover “gotcha” tactics revealing spoilers.
How should I avoid spoilers before April 26th?
The answer is simple…avoid the Internet for the next week or so. I know that seems almost impossible. Notwithstanding, as fans we’ve invested a year waiting for the conclusion to what started in Infinity War. Another way to avoid unwanted spoilers (and leaked Avengers: Endgame footage) is to be careful what links you click on the Internet. Given the world we live in with phishing scams and malware being a daily part of our lives. I would hope that this should already be common knowledge.
The Russo brothers already tweeting out a letter asking fans to not spoil the movie for other fans, with the hashtag #DontSpoilTheEndgame. Despite the tweet thought, Disney has not yet made an official comment or verified that the leaked Avengers: Endgame footage is in fact legitimate.
Leaks for highly anticipated movies can be devastating to box office numbers. However, Endgame is one of the most anticipated movies of 2019. It’s expected to break box office records; I do not think this leak will change that.
