Wow. After months of anticipation and speculation, Star Wars Celebration finally treated us to the title and a trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX. We no longer have to call it a number. The official title for the final Skywalker saga film is, aptly, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. You can watch the Rise of Skywalker trailer right here:
Now, there is a lot packed in those two-plus minutes. We could write an entire article just trying to figure out what “The Rise of Skywalker” means. (Don’t worry, we’ll do that later.) For now, we present you with our list of five standout moments from the Rise of Skywalker trailer. Admittedly we could also create a list of five other standout completely separate from this one. These, however, are our initial takeaways after watching the trailer for the first… ten times or so.

5. Luke Skywalker Voiceover
Granted this isn’t a moment, per se, but think of the import a Luke Skywalker voiceover has. In the voiceover Luke is speaking directly to Rey. That all but confirms that Mark Hamill will, in fact, appear in character as a Force Ghost. At the very least Rey will commune with Luke through the Force. It also implies that Rey has continued, and possibly completed her trailing with Luke following the events of The Last Jedi. How Rey takes heed of his words remains to be seen.
