Star Wars Celebration kicked off today in Chicago, and got off to a great start. There are a lot of subplots when it comes to this year’s Celebration Story. First, we expect the Star Wars: Episode IX title and trailer at tomorrow’s panel. Later in the weekend we’ll learn all about the first ever, live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. Sandwiched in between is a panel reveal all there is to know about the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge them park openings. But today, Day 1, it was all about reveals, murals and cosplay.
Star Wars Celebration Mural on (Almost) Full Display
When you enter Celebration you are immediately treated to the centerpiece of Celebration art: a mural spanning the entire Star Wars saga. The photos do not do it justice. The Mural represents every single film and era of Star Wars. That includes every film to date (even Solo), Clone Wars, and Rebels.
You’ll note, however, that not every film is revealed. A black sheath covers the very last panel… that for Episode IX.:
Expect that to be revealed tomorrow after the Episode IX panel. Reveals didn’t stop at the mural, however…
