Lost in Space Season 1 - Will and the Robot

Lost In Space Season 1 dropped onto Netflix on April 13th, 2018 and was subsequently renewed for a second season barely a month later. Now, almost a year later, outside ofsome character breakdowns we reported on back in August, there’s been very little information about the series sophomore season. So, what’s going on with Lost in Space, Season 2?

In our report, we made an educated guess that the new season would be released towards the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020 based of the production schedule of Season 1. The series began filming in February of 2017, wrapped that July, and then premiered 9 months later. Season 2 went into production in September of 2018 and reportedly wrapped in January, but there’s no confirmation of that to be found. Using that same timeline, it would stand to reason that it should premiere later this September or October.

Where Is Lost In Space Season 2?

However, outside of our report back in October about the casting breakdowns, there’s been absolutely no updates about it’s status, at least not until now. . . sorta. Recently we reached out to Netflix and asked about whether or not they could give us an update on the upcoming second season. Their answer? It was more or less “we have no updates to share at this time”.

They didn’t say they were in post, they didn’t say it had wrapped shooting, just nothing. Obviously, this just means that they’re not ready to share any updates yet, but based on the amount of hype there was around the first season, it’s hard to believe that they haven’t been teasing anything at all. They’re not even having any sort of presence at WonderCon. So, for now at least, it seems that the season 2 is just as lost as the Robinsons are.

If Lost in Space Season 2 drops in October, that’s a full year and a half after Season 1 dropped and if the comments on our previous video are anything to go by, there’s not a small number of people who are losing interest. Personally, I’m still excited for it and am still planning to watch it, but what about you guys? Let us know if you’re still excited for it or if you’ve . . . LOST. . . interest.
