It’s no secret, the Star Wars fans have gone to war over Rian Johnson’s ‘The Last Jedi.’ It is simply the most polarizing topic in the franchise’s history. We have one more film to go in the trilogy of trilogies, so does JJ Abrams and his team “fix” the story or build from it?
Mark Hamill has expressed many times in the past year how he feels about the story, Luke Skywalker and Rian Johnson. He has made it clear that it was not what he wanted for the character, but at the same time, supported all of Johnson’s choices. He was quoted saying the following…
“‘I hate what you’ve done with my character.’ After I got that off my chest, it was like, ‘Lead me, o guru.’” – Mark Hamill to Rian Johnson
No matter how you feel about the movie, it’s where we left off in the Skywalker story. Here is a 10 minute video of Mark Hamill being honest about his feelings on the film and Luke Skywalker, enjoy…
The Last Jedi was awesome. Seriously, there is no other reason Luke would be hidden from Leia, since she can sense him. My only credibility is that I have seen all the films in the theater since ’77 and my scholarly side involving screenplay writing and literary/film analysis.
As Mark said “it’s not what Mark wants.” And it’s not what fans want. It’s what the story must tell. I enjoyed a broken Luke. Reminded me of Yoda somewhat. Defeated and in exile. Anyways…TLJ is #3 on my personal list.
It was garbage. No more money from me. Eff Lucasfilm.
There a multitude of reasons that Luke would be hidden from Leia, that would make more sense! For example, he could have been in a coma, captured by darksiders masking his presence etc. Not for the fact he cut himself from the force after he thought about murdering a boy… but not any boy.. his sister’s only kid. His best friends son. His own family. I hated the last jedi and so do many others. The Luke issues is just one of the multitudes of problems that many fans of this franchise have.
Worst Star Wars movie ever. I’ll watch Jar Jar Binks step in crap all day long before ever watching Last Jedi ever again. Awful, just awful.
The last Jedi was one of my favorites it put an unpredictable spin on the storyline and had some amazing scenes most Star Wars fans always have to be winey little bitches “wa wa wa jar jar binks wa wa wa Greto shooting first”,but I love all the movies
Last Jedi was garbage, it was just a feeble try at rewriting Empire Strikes Back on a different planet with the obi won twist of a new hope.
