Conflicting reports about Ronda Rousey have come out this morning about her status with the company.
According to reports from Dave Meltzer, the RAW Women’s Champion could be done with the company after WrestleMania 35. However in another article from ProWrestlingSheet, it is stated that this might just be an extended break so that Ronda can start a family of her own. Which was apparently talked about before she signed with the company.
One thing that is common in both articles it that Ronda Rousey will be leaving, one way or another, after this year’s WrestleMania. This could defiantly put a damper on WWE’s long term plans for Rousey, and a whole lot of questions surface because of it.
We’ve all seen the hints of a UFC 4 Horsewomen vs. WWE 4 Horsewomen for months now, and it would seem that WWE might pull the trigger on that match sooner rather than later. Backlash seems like a perfect place if any to have this match. While I would be very surprised to see Shayna Baszler drop the NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver this Sunday, it doesn’t seem like a foregone conclusion at this point.
And as for WrestleMania 35? Well, the rumors are still that it will be a triple threat match along with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. If the ProWrestlingSheet report is true, we will see a new RAW Women’s Champion crowned in (hopefully) the main event of the biggest show of the year.
