It was recently announced by Disney that they are going to be having a variety of different television series surrounding some of their fan favourite Marvel characters on their upcoming streaming service titled Disney+.
One of these series that was announced was that of a Scarlet Witch and The Vision series. This series will focus on the two titular heroes and their relationship that we began to see blossom in Captain America: Civil War and continued in Avengers: Infinity War.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jac Schaeffer is the one who will write the pilot for the new series.
Schaeffer is going to be known as the writer of the upcoming MCU film Captain Marvel, so it’s definitely interesting to see Disney rehiring one of their film writers to write the pilot for one of their premier tv series’s.
This also bodes well for Captain Marvel. Disney must have a lot of faith in the movie as they are already giving this position to Schaeffer before the movie has even been released.
Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen are both set to reprise their roles as the titular heroes in the series which further cements that these TV projects will be much more heavily connected to the film universe than some of their other TV counterparts such as the Netflix shows.
Following on from this, Disney have also got two other Marvel centric shows planned for the streaming service planned in the form of a Tom Hiddlestone led Loki series and a Falcon & Winter Solider team up show starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan.
Disney have a lot of big plans for Disney+ with all of these Marvel projects but also with Star Wars projects, Pixar properties and even some of Disney’s own IP’s.
Disney+ is looking to launch in Fall 2019.
