Disney-Pixar’s Monsters Inc was one of the most amazing animated films ever made. It made $559,757,719 at the worldwide box office, and received an Oscar Award and a Grammy Award.
And now Tokyopop, known for releasing manga titles such as Aria: The Masterpiece, The Disney Descendants Rotten To The Core Books, and even the Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero’s Journey comic books, are now releasing Disney-Pixar’s Monsters Inc as a manga.
The cover art was created by Philly Delphie, and the story is written by Hiromi Yamafuhi. The manga’s story is:
Sulley and Mike work at Monsters, Inc., the biggest scream processing plant in Monstropolis. When one little child named Boo wanders into their world, it’s the monsters who are scared silly. Thinking she is dangerous and toxic, Sulley and Mike do their best to return Boo to her bedroom, but there are some monstrous hurdles in their way.
I love, and still love the film, so it’s pretty awesome to see it’s getting the manga treatment. The story seems to be the same story from the film, so for the old school fans of the film like me, we will already know the story.
It will be releasing on January 8th, 2019, and it will be retailing for $10.99 for the physical copy, and $6.99 for the digital copy.
