According to an article over at PWInsider, Ring of Honor has signed Lucha independent wrestling star Bandido to an exclusive contract.
The twenty-three year old made his name mostly in Mexico. Working for such companies as Lucha Libra Elite and AAA. More recently he’s hit the United States independent scene, making it to the finals of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s annual Battle of Los Angeles tournament.
Along with Bandido, ROH has reportedly signed former PROGRESS Champion Mark Haskins to an exclusive deal as well. Haskins has traveled the world, and has held championships in pretty much every promotion he’s worked for.
Signing these two to exclusive deals shows that ROH is definitely in need of star power after losing a good portion of their roster at the start of 2019. They had sort of a curtain call for The Elite at Final Battle this past weekend. Haskins is a solid worker, and has been for quite a while. His style will fit perfectly within ROH. Bandido is a star in the making, and ROH did the right thing signing him up before WWE or the rumored All Elite Wrestling came along.
No start date has been announced for either wrestler, but we can safely assume to see them in a ROH ring in the first quarter of 2019.
