According to reports from the Observer, WWE is interested in Dalton Castle.
While WWE has shown interest in Castle since 2017, it appears that interest is surfacing once again. Castle’s original contract was set to expire mid-2017, and he resigned with Ring of Honor. Although no one knows exactly how long that contract was for, it seems with this news that it could be up soon. It wouldn’t be out of the question for WWE to be talking to someone who is still under contract. We know about this from the KUSHIDA rumors.
Dalton Castle first made waves as “Smooth Sailing” Ashley Remington in the CHIKARA promotion, but made his biggest splash in ROH. Debuting in 2013, the flamboyant showman took the promotion by storm. He’s a fantastic promo, and a pretty great wrestler to boot. So you could see why the biggest promotion on the planet would be interested in him. His larger than life character would fit perfectly on any brand.
WWE appears to be ramping up their talks with wrestlers who are near the end of their current contracts. This could be in an effort to battle the All Elite Wrestling promotion, although we still know little to nothing about that.
Dalton Castle will wrestle Matt Taven at ROH’s Final Battle pay-per-view. Could this be the last time we see Planet Peacock in a Ring of Honor ring? Stay tuned.
