If you’re both a night owl and a Star Wars fan, I have some good news for you. (Okay, if you’re a Star Wars fan and have a DVR, I’ve got some good news for you, too.) Fans have been desperate to learn more details about The Mandalorian, Star Wars Episode IX, and other upcoming projects. Later this week we may finally get some answers to our questions. James Corden will be hosting not one but two stars of upcoming Star Wars productions on The Late Late Show.
According to ComicBook, The Late Late Show will host Episode IX’s Richard E Grant on Wednesday, November 14th, and Rogue One’s Diego Luna the following night. Grant most recently entertained us in James Mangold’s critically acclaimed conclusion to the Wolverine trilogy, Logan. Luna is currently starring in the Netflix production Narcos: Mexico, set to debut on Friday.
The Late Late Show Hosts New Star Wars Actor Richard E. Grant
Richard E. Grant has been in the news a bit lately, as he recently opened up about his audition for Star Wars Episode IX. Grant spoke about the audition process and offered a few potential tidbits about his character. Consequently, that led to speculation he could be playing a First Order officer, or maybe even a prominent character from the Aftermath book series. Perhaps we’ll discover more details when he speaks on the Late Late Show. Corden has a penchant for putting his guests at ease and coaxing details out of them.
Diego Luna to Appear on The Late Late Show
Diego Luna’s appearance, however, is an interesting one. Sure, he’s likely to discus Narcos. Nonetheless, I can’t imagine Corden wouldn’t have picked up on Disney’s recent announcement. Diego Luna will reprise his Rogue One: A Star Wars Story role of Captain Cassian Andor in a second, live-action Star Wars series. The Mandalorian and Star Wars: The Clone Wars are already slated for Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+. The untitled, intergalactic spy thriller starring Luna will now join them.
Here’s hoping we get the goods on both Episode IX and the new series when The Late Late Show airs the respective episodes on November 14th and 15th later this week.
