Doctor Who fans that love the characters of Madame Vastra, Jenny, and Strax are in luck.  The producer of Doctor Who audio adventures Big Finish is bringing back the Paternoster Gang for a new series.  It will be titled The Paternoster Gang: Heritage.  And Neve McIntosh, Catrin Stewart, and Dan Starkey will reprise their roles of Madame Vastra, Jenny, and Strax the Sontaran.

The characters first appeared in Eleventh Doctor episode “A Good Man Goes to War.”  Strax joined Vastra and Jenny in the follow-up webisode “The Battle of Demons Run: Two Days Later.”  The trio normally resides in 19th century London and have assisted The Doctor on multiple occasions.   First in “The Crimson Horror,” where The Doctor meets another version of Clara Oswald who had died in a previous adventure.  And then in “Deep Breath,” the first episode starring the Twelfth Doctor.

Made in association with BBC Studios, the beloved characters will take on the first electronic automated cars in London, zombies, and Greenwich ghosts.  Not to mention, they will face off against the intergalactic Bloomsbury Bunch, a Sontoran couple and their Silurian female servant!

The Paternoster Gang will release four volumes, each containing three adventures, in 2019 and 2020.  The first volume, The Paternoster Gang: Heritage 1, will be released in April 2019.  It will have the adventures “The Cars that Ate London” by Jonathan Morris, “A Photograph to Remember” by Roy Gill, and “The Ghosts of Greenwich” by Paul Morris.  The remaining three volumes will release in October 2019, March 2020 and October 2020.

Strax himself, Dan Starkey, said (via Doctor Who News), “Remain calm, human scum! Strax need no longer sulk and polish his grenades! It’ll be a pleasure to get the gang back together: Big Finish listeners can be assured that we’ll be in full prosthetics and restrictive Victorian tailoring in studio to get right back into the Paternoster Row vibe! Can’t wait to get started!”

Madame Vastra’s Neve McIntosh, said, “At last our fans will get more adventures with The Paternoster Gang and will find out more about how we came to be!”

The pre-order price for The Paternoster Gang Volumes 1-4 is £25 on CD or £20 on download each from  The release day price will be £30 on CD or £25 on download each.  The first adventure of The Paternoster Gang releases with The 8th of March celebratory box set.
