If there is a bright center of the universe, you are on the planet that its farthest from. No, this isn’t Tatooine. No this isn’t Jakku…  It’s Earth – minus the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie. According to Ewan McGregor, he knows nothing about one even being worked on. While doing a recent interview for Christopher Robin, Ewan had this to say: “I would totally do it of course… There’s no plans as such to do it, as far as I know.”

This is not what the majority of fans want to hear coming from the star of the would be movie. The rumor of the Obi-Wan movie has been floating around for about four years. In 2014 Starwars.com started their “This is Madness” tournament where fans could vote on their favorite characters and have them advance to the next round of the bracket. Most were pretty sure the winner would be someone like Luke, Vader or Boba. The dark horse that won it all was none other than “The Negotiator” General Kenobi.

A lot of people were kinda shocked, but there could be no mistake. Reports were that even the higher ups took notice of the unexpected popularity. About this time, Ewan dropped the first of his many, “Id love to do it” comments in interviews. The rumors were off.

In the end what does Ewan’s recent remarks mean? Absolutely nothing. This movie could still be in one of two states. To be honest, there is really no way of knowing which it is unless the magical day comes when we do finally get an announcement.
