Flash-WallyTowards the end of the last season of the Arrowverse shows on The CW, fans were sad to hear that Keiynan Lonsdale’s Wally West would not be back as a full-time cast member on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. It was revealed that he would at least be back in The Flash premiere of Season 5.

But it appears that Kid Flash fans will get to see the iconic speedster more than once in Season 5! During a San Diego Comic-Con interview with showrunner Todd Helbing, through Newsarama, it was revealed that Lonsdale will be back for at least three episodes. While Helbing didn’t give away specifics, he did give some intriguing teases about what is in store for Wally.

“You will see Wally in the first episode. He is in three episodes this season. We don’t have as much time with Kid Flash as I think everyone would like to see, but the story we have for him is really cool.”

With the premiere being one of them, it remains to be seen when we will see Wally in the other two episodes that he is set for. One of those two episodes could potentially be the 100th episode, which is going to be the 8th episode of Season 5. With Wally being a big part of the show’s mythology, it would make perfect sense for Kid Flash to be part of The Flash’s milestone episode.

Given Helbing’s description about what to expect for Wally, it does sound like they have a big arc in mind for him. It still isn’t clear whether or not we will see Kid Flash pop up in any capacity in the fourth season of Legends to address him leaving the team. But for now, fans of The Flash can look forward to seeing Wally at least three times in the new season. With Iris and Barry’s daughter Nora popping up from the future, hopefully, we will get to see Wally be part of the big family dynamic in some capacity

The Flash Season 5 premieres on Tuesday, October 9 at 8/7c on The CW!
