The first season of the Overwatch League has come to a close, with the London Spitfire winning the Grand Finals against the Philadelphia Fusion and now, with the 2019 season coming up, 2 new teams are joining the fray.

Up first, Atlanta is one of the 2 new teams coming into the league. The team will be owned by Cox Enterprises, which is a leading communications, media, and automotive services company. The team is going to be operated by Atlanta Esports Ventures, which is going to be a venture between Cox and Province, Inc.

The other team is from Guangzhou, China. They are going to be owned and operated by Nenking Group, which is a financial and entertainment conglomerate and they are also the owners of the Guangzhou Long Lions, who is apart of the Chinese Basketball Association.

The official team names, marks, and rosters are going to be announced at a later date.

Nate Nanzer, the commissioner of the Overwatch League said,”We know Atlanta and Guangzhou have deeply engaged fan communities and we can’t wait to unveil their teams. As the league continues to grow, we’re looking forward to seeing more talented pros in action as more roster spots open up.”
