It’s been 25 years since the slasher genre was turned on it’s head. The forced “reset” of the genre due to Scream cannot be denied. To celebrate 25 years, the film is getting a brand new release in 4K Ultra HD. Written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Wes Craven, the film tears open the heart of what makes slasher movies great and shows the audience behind the curtain. The 4K UHD Steelbook includes all the legacy extras of previous releases and the best quality version of the film.
Here’s the synopsis of the film for people who haven’t seen it in awhile:
After a series of mysterious deaths befalls their small town, an offbeat group of friends led by Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) becomes the target of a masked killer. As the body count rises, Sidney and her friends turn to the “rules” of horror films to help navigate the real-life terror they’re living in. The film also stars Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Jamie Kennedy, Rose McGowan, and Drew Barrymore.
