Disney and Lucasfilm teased fans with a sizzle reel for the show back at Star Wars Celebration. Now Star Wars fans finally get to see real footage of the first-ever, live-action Star Wars series in franchise history. After premiering at Disney’s D23 Expo 2019, you can now watch the first, full Mandalorian trailer here:
Disney showed the Mandalorian trailer during today’s Disney+ panel at the D23 Expo in Anaheim. Funs in attendance understandably went wild upon getting their first glimpse into a live-action galaxy far, far away outside of the feature Star Wars films. (Okay, fine; their first glimpse in decades, assuming Lucasfilm considers the two, made-for-tv Ewok films canon).
Mandalorian trailer debuts at D23 Expo
The Mandalorian follows a lone gunslinger as he makes is way across the outer rim. The story is set approximately five years after Return of the Jedi. It will focus on the title character, played by Pedro Pascal, and the characters he meets. Among the cast joining pascal are Gina Carrano, Carl Weathers and yes, Gary Busey as an Ughnaught. If the Mandalorian trailer is any indication, fans are in for a treat. Packed with a seamless blend of practical and visual effects, the show promises to be something special. It’s no wonder, considering the astounding $100 million-plus budget Disney handed producer Jon Favreau to make it.
We’ll break the trailer down for you once we’ve had a chance to watch it about twenty more times. But, for now, enjoy watching the first, full Mandalorian trailer above. Don’t forget to let us know your thoughts on the trailer, and the series, in the comments below.
