While Marvel Studios The Eternals still doesn’t have an release date yet, the pool of casting anouncements is still happening.
The Wrap is reporting that South Korean actor Ma Dong-seok, who was in films like Train To Busan and The Outlaws, is going to be making his American film debut in the superhero film. As with most casting announcements, his role is right now being kept under wraps.
In other casting news, us here at THS did report that Marvel and Chloe Zhao, who is directing the film, are looking for an openly gay male lead. Marvel is also looking for an openly gay/bisexual Asian actors in their 20’s to fill the roles of James. James is being described as “intellectual, emotional, and has a strong sense of family.”
We did hear at the top of Marvel’s list for this character is Conrad Ricamora. He is currently starring in ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder. We reached out to his agent and have not heard anything back yet.
If this casting does happen, this will be interesting to how this character will play out in the film.
It was also reported that Angelina Jolie will reportedly be in the film. She is right now being speculated for the role of Sersei. And The Big Sick and Men In Black: International star Kumail Nanjiani has also boarded the film in an unknown role. Fans online have been speculating that he will be playing Makkari.
It looks like with this already impressive cast, Marvel will definitely have another Box Office Blockbuster on their hands when this film releases.
