On April 17 WWE Superstar, Luke Harper, asked for his release, but was denied.  However, new details on why he was denied and Goldust was granted his release have come out.

Harper’s name came up on April 28 Wrestling Observer Radio.  Dave Meltzer said that Vince doesn’t want to release anyone right now.  However, Goldust was granted his release because Triple H convinced Vince to release him.  The reason Harper was not granted his request is because no one is trying to do that for him.

Harper’s Feud Cancelled

A feud between Harper and Sami Zayn was planned, but the feud was ultimately cancelled.  This is reportedly a large factor in Harper asking to be released. After Harper was not granted his release WWE added six more months to his contract because they added in the time he took off for his wrist surgery.

Goldust vs Cody

The 90-day no compete clause for Goldust will expire sometime in May.  Goldust who is going by Dustin Rhodes has been announce to be wrestling his brother, Cody, at AEW Double or Nothing on May 25 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
