What do UFC and Pokemon have in common? If you said anything but fighting you are wrong. It seems like nothing is surprising anymore these days. From people buying stockpiles of toilet paper to putting gasoline in plastic bags, it couldn’t get much crazier right? Well if you have been by a Target store and other trading card retailers in the morning then you know the answer is yes it can.

People are lining up in the early morning hours to try to get their hands on whatever cards they can grab. Yeah, there are some true collectors and kids out there trying to get some and enjoy this hobby but unfortunately, because of the values of some of these cards rising resellers also know as flippers are making it hard for anyone to enjoy it. Not only are these lines forming every day the tensions are rising and fights are breaking out, mainly because there are people out there that just have not grown up! So because of this Target stores have stopped the sale of trading cards in store!

Target To Move Trading Card Sales To Online Only

Really this move is not surprising if you have been caught up in trying to get some Pokemon or other trading cards. But what really seemed to send Target over the edge was a fight that broke out at a Target in the Milwaukee area where one man was injured and a gun was drawn during a fight over cards. Yes, you read that right “IN A FIGHT OVER CARDS”. Well, thanks to people like this Target said no more, and Starting May 14th there will be no more Pokemon and other trading card sales in-store. In a report from The Action Network Target has confirmed this news:

“The safety of our guests and our team is our top priority,” Target said in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve decided to temporarily suspend the sale of MLB, NFL, NBA and Pokémon trading cards within our stores, effective May 14. Guests can continue to shop these cards online at Target.com.”

Now what it does not say is what will become of the other cards that Target sells like Star Wars, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic, and others. Guess we will have to wait and see. Also with this going on could it start a trend with other retailers? Good chance we will get that answer soon.

We Want To Hear From You
