Most readers are likely aware that Gargoyles was a hit Disney animated series from 1994, and a cult classic by the present day. However, did you also know that Disney also made a video game adaptation of it in 1995, at the height of its popularity? It was your typical Disney platform game, admittedly. However, it did get some very good reviews from critics. Alas, it was also exclusively for the Sega Genesis. Thus, finding and playing the original 1995 game can be a bit of a challenge. Fortunately, Disney aims to do something about that by giving us a modern remaster of the game. Complete with HD graphics to boot. Don’t believe me? Then why not check out Disney’s newest trailer for this remaster below, and revel in the switch from 16-bit graphics to HD.

Gargoyles Remastered: Details

Anyone else get shivers of nostalgia at hearing Keith David voice Goliath again?

At D23 Expo, Disney unveiled a brand new trailer for their upcoming Gargoyles Remastered video game on YouTube. Said trailer shows off quite a bit of the gameplay. As you might expect of the title, the gameplay is essentially the same platformer fighting game you expect from those old Disney games. If you’ve ever played Disney’s Aladdin (1993) for the SNES and GBA, then you know what to expect. Only, instead of hearing Robin Williams’ voice (may he rest in peace) as the blue Genie, we have Keith David reprising his role as Goliath with his epic deep voice.

As for when we’ll get to see how this remaster will play? Well, the very end of that Gargoyles Remastered trailer reveals that it will make its debut on October 19, 2023. You can in fact preorder it right now on Steam, GOG.com, PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch. All except on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store, which doesn’t have it yet as of this writing. Tune back in to THS later to find out more about this remaster when we finally learn more about it.
