Today, Disney+ unveiled a new teaser and poster for Descendants: The Rise of Red, the upcoming installment in the popular Descendants franchise! The series showcases the adolescent descendants of renowned Disney heroes and villains.

So, in Descendants: The Rise of Red we meet Red, the defiant daughter of the Queen of Hearts. She and Chloe, Cinderella’s meticulous daughter, are thrust into action when the tyrannical Queen of Hearts launches a coup against Auradon. In a tale of unlikely allies, Red and Chloe must unite and journey back in time to prevent the pivotal event that led Red’s mother toward her villainous destiny.

So, in the newest teaser, Kylie Cantrall is introduced as Red. She is the princess of Wonderland as well as Auradon’s latest Villain Kid (VK). Red is discovered “red-handed” by Malia Baker (The Babysitters Club), portraying Chloe, the daughter of Cinderella and King Charming.

The cast of the film includes a mix of new VKs and familiar characters. Brandy joins as Cinderella and Rita Ora is the Queen of Hearts. Then there’s Dara Reneé as Uliana, Ruby Rose Turner as Bridget/Young Queen of Hearts, Morgan Dudley as Ella/Young Cinderella, Joshua Colley as Young Hook, Peder Lindell as Morgie, Grace Narducci as Fay/Young Fairy Godmother, Jeremy Swift as Principal Merlin, Paolo Montalban as King Charming, and Leonardo Nam as Maddox Hatter. China Anne McClain returns as Uma, now the new principal at Auradon Prep. Melanie Paxson reprises her role as Fairy Godmother.

So, the soundtrack of Descendants: The Rise of Red is scheduled for release on July 12 by Walt Disney Records. The album promises to immerse viewers in the emotional voyage of our dynamic new characters. Staying true to the musical essence of the Descendants series, this fourth chapter showcases seven fresh original songs, two reprises, as well as a rendition of “So This Is Love” from Disney’s animated classic Cinderella.

The Disney Original movie starts streaming Friday, July 12, exclusively on Disney+, followed by a special encore Friday, Aug. 9, at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel
