Marvel Television and Hulu just the ensemble cast for the upcoming streaming series Marvel’s Helstrom. The cast includes Tom Austen, Sydney Lemmon, Elizabeth Marvel, Robert Wisdom, June Carryl, Ariana Guerra, and Alain Uy. The live-action series will be based Marvel’s comic book series of the same name. It will also mark Marvel’s first attempt at the horror genre ahead of future slated horror focused films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and possibly Blade.

Helstrom

The character Daimon Hellstrom first appeared in Ghost Rider No. 1 (Sept. 1973), then was spun off into his own series Son of Satan. However, the character’s success faded soon after the series launch. Marvel cancelled Son of Satan after issue No. 7. Hellstrom eventually became a recurring character in The Defenders. In 1993, he again received his own series with Hellstorm: Prince of Lies. Marvel eventually cancelled that series as well with issue No. 21. You can now see Daimon Hellstrom in the pages of Strikeforce where he joins a team consisting of Blade, Angela, Winter Soldier, Spider-Woman, Wiccan and Monica Rambeau.

Hellstrom Family Players

British actor Tom Austen will play Daimon Helstrom in the new series. Fans may recognize Austen from recent TV Series such as The Royals or Grantchester. The studio describes Austen’s role as a professor of ethics who moonlights as an exorcist.  Daimon has no illusions about saving a world he has no patience for; he just hopes he can help a few of the people closest to him. In his battle against a hidden world, Daimon is determined to root out demons as they arise, and will not stop until they’re vanquished.

Tom Austen and Sydney Lemmon

Actor Sydney Lemmon will fill the role of Ana Helstrom. Lemmon most recently played a small role in AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead. Her character runs a successful auction house and “suffers no fools,” but her true interest lies in hunting down those who hurt others. Traumatized by her father as a child, Ana is driven to rid the world of those like him, even as she secretly worries her father will return.

Elizabeth Marvel

Rounding out the Helstrom family will be Victoria Helstrom, with Elizabeth Marvel taking on that role. Marvel has a long filmography on IMDb.com, but most recently she played President Elizabeth Keane on Homeland. Her character is described as being plagued by demons both real and imagined, Victoria has been institutionalized for twenty years. While she struggles to be herself, she hopes to repair her relationship with her children.

Marvel’s Helstrom will debut sometime in 2020 on Hulu.
