Kanye West, who is a huge STAR WARS fan, showed everyone this week that he is strong with the Force. In a story he did for Forbes, the rapper revealed plans for his next project. No, he is not releasing a new album. Instead he is working on some amazing charitable work with a splash of STAR WARS.

This STAR WARS inspired project will be an attempt to build new low-income housing for the less fortunate. West got his idea for these homes from a planet with two suns that all STAR WARS fans are familiar with. That’s right its Tatooine. After being inspired by Luke Skywalker’s childhood home West hopes to build these prefabricated buildings not just to create homes, but possibility using these structures for other needs as well.

According to Forbes, Kanye West has already teamed up with designers to make sure they all have the same goal in using these for low income families. He has also taken the lead with the construction of this STAR WARS inspired project by leaving notes for the architects on how to make these Tatooine replica homes perfect to live in. Kanye even took Forbes’ Zack O’Malley Greenburg to see the project. Here is what he had to say about it:

“Kanye West and I stroll out into the chilly, starless night, and I follow him up a dirt path deeper into the woods for several minutes until he stops at a clearing and looks up, wordless. There, with the hazy heft of something enormous and far away, stand a trio of structures that look like the skeletons of wooden spaceships. They’re the physical prototypes of his concept, each oblong and dozens of feet tall, and West leads me inside each one.“

“He tells me they could be used as living spaces for the homeless, perhaps sunk into the ground with light filtering in through the top. We stand there in silence for several minutes considering the structures before walking back down to his lurking Lamborghini and zooming off into the night.“

The Force could be strong with this project

So far there were not any dates mention for when and where this project will take place. As for now everything is in the prototype and planning phase. But how great would it be to be able to just pop up these low-income structures and possibly help in areas with high homeless rates and low-income as well? I for one will be following this story closely and will be excited when this becomes a reality. Good for Kanye West on trying to make this world a better place.
