4. Darth Vader
“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”Darth Vader, Episode IV: A New Hope
What hasn’t our dark lord of the Sith said that isn’t quotable? Everything he pushes out of that mask—including his breathing—impacts the entire course of the galaxy. I chose this one as my favorite from him because of the total ease of inappropriately-timed use. C’mon, what true Star Wars fan hasn’t repeated this line? Better yet, who hasn’t inserted their own rewrite of it? I find your lack of Cheetos disturbing. I find your lack of pants disturbing. From an ugly Christmas sweater: I find your lack of cheer disturbing. The versatility and mayhem potential is endless.
Vader has several memorable quotes and dialogue, making it hard to choose. But if Highlander taught me anything, it’s that “there can be only one.” A close second for me is, “No, I am your father.” Mostly because as a kid, I sat in front of an oscillating fan and said this over and over, perfecting my Vader voice. When I saw it in Tommy Boy, I knew I was destined for greatness.
