Dani-less Loose ends…

There are a couple more questions should Daenerys fall. Jon taking the throne is one thing, but what about the armies and Drogon?

If Dani is assassinated, What happens to the Dothraki and the Unsullied? Do they start a war against the North since a Northman will have killed her (Jon or Arya)? Grey Worm was plenty pissed when Missandei died. Would Dani’s death lead him in a suicide charge? Or would it break him? Their slave days are over. Dani freed them, so he who holds a symbolic whip does not control them any more.

The Dothraki are a bit different. While committed to her in life, I do not see them committed to her in death. If Jon were to simply offer them safe passage back to Essos, I see them taking it just to be able to go back home.

Lastly, there is Drogon. Jon may have bonded with Rhaegal, but Drogon belonged to Dani. We also know Jon is not fireproof, so he could not risk staring Drogon down. How do you take out a rampaging dragon? The North lacks Scorpions. All they could manage would be to trap him and kill him on the ground. Otherwise the North could suffer a world of hurt.

There is one other option, a loose end that has been dangling useless for most of the season – Brandon Stark, The Three-Eyed Raven. Bran’s warging ability may be for this purpose alone. Bran could attempt to warg into the dragon and take over Drogon’s mind. From there he could force the dragon to kill himself, or Bran could become the dragon. This would allow Bran’s body to die and send Drogon off into the sunset. Mysticism in Westeros comes to an end.

What do you think? With only 80 minutes left in the series, how do you think it will all end?
