Goldberg Vs The Phenom: Super ShowDown

Goldberg posted a few weeks back asking who’s next.  We just learned his opponent for WWE Super ShowDown event will be the Dead Man himself, Undertaker.

WWE Super ShowDown is a big event for WWE’s third time going to Saudi Arabia.  Many big names have been announced for the event, but many matchups had not been announced as of yet.  Some of the big names wrestling at the event are WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns.

Undertaker and Goldberg have never met in the ring.  These two men were true icons of late ‘90s and early ‘00s wrestling.  However, at their primes Undertaker was in WWE with Goldberg being in WCW.  Goldberg eventually made his way to WWE, but his time was short and their paths never crossed.

Only three matches have been announced besides Undertaker vs Goldberg.  Triple H will go against his storied rival, Randy Orton. However, the third is the 50-man Battle Royal and I am most looking forward to this match.  I really hope Titus O’Neil slips or something again because his slip under the ring was the best part of Greatest Royal Rumble.

Huge Super ShowDown Match… For 2003

This is a big time historic match, but not in 2019.  If this match took place in 2003 people would be going nuts for it.  However, the combined age for the two men is 106. Undertaker is 54 years old and wrestles part-time for a reason.  He has a hard time keeping a good pace for an entire match. However, after his hip surgery Undertaker has looked a lot better in the ring.

Goldberg has never been very good in the ring and needs to be carried through matches and even did in his prime.  Undertaker is the most experienced wrestler in the WWE, but he is too old and Goldberg is literally too big to be carried through a match.

Someone Could Die in Super ShowDown

However, Goldberg is a power wrestler and will have to pick up Taker and be picked up.  If something goes wrong that is a lot of weight coming down on eachother. Also keep in mind Goldberg gave Bret Hart a concussion in Hart’s prime and ended his career.  If Goldberg can do that to Hart of all people then he can accidently hurt anyone.

Undertaker has the experience to know how to protect himself and his opponent, but there is only so much he can do.  I do not have high expectations for this match, but I just hope they don’t need to use their Life Alert bracelets because they’ve fallen and can’t get up.

When Grandpa’s Collide
