For those familiar with DC Comics, King Shark is a supervillain who made his first appearance back in 1994. In the comics, he’s a humanoid shark that wreaks havoc across the Hawaiian Islands. He’s appeared in various Aquaman titles, and served as a villain to the Suicide Squad. Hence his inclusion in the new film.

Rooker is obviously no stranger to playing comic book characters or in comics-based features. Let’s not forget The Walking Dead, in which he played Merle, was born from comic book pages. And, of course, there’s Yondu. King Shark should be an easy transition.

Rooker will join the likes of Idris Elba, and characters like Ratcatcher and Harley Quinn, when the film debuts in 2021. Stay tuned her to That Hashtag Show for all your up-to-date information on the upcoming Suicide Squad.
