We’ve heard that Marvel Studios intends to make Brie Larson the focus on their post-Infinity universe and now we have an idea of just how much that might entail. According to a new report, Larson has signed a 7-picture deal with the studio that “locks her into multiple franchises.”
Larson, who will make $5M for her debut in next March’s Captain Marvel, will also appear in 2019’s Untitled Avengers, leaving her with another 5 appearances in future Marvel Studios’ films. Assuming they’d like to complete a Captain Marvel trilogy, that would leave 2 other films which could be future Avengers film, Guardians of the Galaxy films or other new franchises yet to be revealed. To be honest, until Marvel Studios pulls back the veil a little bit on their future plans, all we can do is speculate about Larson’s future.
As Marvel Studios moves on from the Robert Downey Jr. led Avengers era, it remains to be seen if they’ll continue the big budget event films or start looking at spreading their story lines out over the course of several smaller films. With Captain Marvel set to introduce the Skrulls, it is expected that the studio will adapt the Marvel Comics Secret Invasion story that ran nearly linewide in 2008 and 2009. A future Captain Marvel film could easily further that story, as well as continue to open up the Cosmic side of the universe.
