Sean Gunn Has Confirmed That Disney Will Still Be Using James Gunn’s Script For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol 3

After severing ties with James Gunn back in July, it seemed like Disney wouldn’t be using Gunn’s script for Guardians 3. That is until recently.

Gunn’s brother, Sean Gunn, famous for playing the Ravager Kraglin, and for doing the motion capture for Rocket Racoon, spoke to Tulsa World and assured them that the film will be moving forward with the script James Gunn wrote.

“I know Disney still wants to make the movie. I know that they have every intention of using the script that my brother wrote.”

While also speaking to the website, he also talked about the potential for Guardians 3 to be made.

“Obviously, that was a very unfortunate situation for everybody, most of all him. But I am also somebody who had been preparing to spend half a year making that movie and now that’s up in the air. Obviously, I think it’s a tricky proposition for them to find another director to step in — and also the scheduling of a lot of other actors who are incredibly busy can’t be easy. But I know that they plan on making the movie. I had not been contacted at all for a while, but I was recently contacted by Marvel saying, ‘Yeah, we do plan to make this movie. We’re just not sure when yet.’”

It seems like Disney still wants to make the film. But, the production was supposed to start in early 2019, and after the James Gunn firing, it was put on hold. Right now, however, it is unknown when the film will start production.
