Jon Hamm has been at the top of many peoples lists when it comes to actors who could play Batman on the big screen. As of late, many have been looking to their lists to try and figure out who would be a suitable replacement for Ben Affleck as it is looking ever more likely that he is going to drop out.
Following the news of Henry Cavill exiting the role of Superman over at Warner Bros, other reports detailed that Ben Affleck may finally make the official decision to leave too.
So given the rampant speculation of Ben Affleck being recast in the upcoming Matt Reeves directed Batman flick, Jon Hamm was asked about the role in a recent interview:
“It depends on the script, what the story is,” “I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I have read comic books since I was nine or younger. And I am pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they are done well.”
Hamm went on to say that he has not had any conversations with Warner Bros about the Batman role but is confident that I’d probably fit the suit. I’d have to work out a lot, which I don’t love. But, I am sure there is an interesting version of that being out there. And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it: why not?”
Hamm continued; “I have had rumors about that since probably season one of Mad Men,” “I have never had a conversation with anyone about it, literally. And I’ve sat in the room with all these guys. I have never been offered anything. I think the Internet wants what it wants. But, I mean, a lot of people have to sign off on that, obviously not just the Internet.”
It’s safe to say that Jon Hamm would make a pretty awesome and interesting version of Bruce Wayne and The Dark Knight. Would you like to see him take on The Caped Crusader or do you have anyone else in mind? Oscar Isaac? Karl Urban? Let me know who you think should play Batman in the comments.
