This week we finally learned more about the upcoming streaming service from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. TV, in the forms of the DC Universe. The highly anticipated digital service is going to be the ultimate place for all DC fans, with comics, TV shows, movies and a lot more. One of the exciting parts is the original slate of programming that comes with it, including Titans, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Stargirl and surely more shows that will be announced in the future.
During a live-stream this week with Kevin Smith, we received new looks at our four leading heroes of the series that you can see below. Titans will tell the story of one of the most iconic teams from DC Comics, as Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, and Raven come together first the first time in live-action. It was also revealed during the show that we can expect the series premiere on October 12! But if you’re going to New York Comic-Con this year, there will be a world premiere screening of the first episode on Wednesday, October 3 at 7:30 PM ET in the Hammerstein Ballroom, with cast and producer set to attend as part of a Q&A.
Titans will be the first original live-action series to debut on the DC Universe streaming service. A spin-off has already been ordered to series in the form of Doom Patrol who will be recurring characters in the first season. Aquaman director James Wan is executive producing a Swamp Thing series that will be kicking off sometime next year, along with Geoff Johns’ Stargirl series that will feature Courtney Whitmore leading the next generation of heroes, keeping the Justice Society alive. You can pre-order your membership for DC Universe at their official website right now.
