Lady-Gaga-Birds-Of-PreyOne of the many DC Comics films that are in the works from Warner Bros. is the highly anticipated Birds of Prey film from director Cathy Yan. The film will also feature the return of Margot Robbie in her second go as Harley Quinn after her debut in the Suicide Squad franchise. While no release date has been set yet, production is reportedly set to happen sometime in 2019, with ideally aiming for a 2020 release date.

The film is reportedly featuring Dinah Laurel Lance a.k.a. Black Canary, Helena Bertinelli a.k.a. Huntress as well as Renée Montoya, along with Harley who teams up with the Birds. While Barbara Gordon is supposedly not appearing in the movie, we will see Cassandra Cain a.k.a. Orphan. Recently it was revealed that the Birds of Prey will supposedly fight the villainous Black Mask as he is keeping Cassandra hostage.

While we have yet to get casting news for the Birds, according to Daniel RPK, pop singer and actress Lady Gaga were supposedly eyed for one of the lead roles! According to Daniel, Gaga was offered the roles of either Black Canary or the Huntress. But supposedly she turned down one of those roles, meaning the search for both roles continues.

“Lady Gaga was offered the role of either Huntress or Black Canary 3 months ago but she turned it down. Oh well.”

In other Birds of Prey rumors, Daniel also revealed recently that Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi Mack) is rumored to possibly be up for the role of Cassandra Cain. Daniel does stress that it is just a rumor, meaning that nothing is set in stone as anyone could end up landing the Cassandra part.

“Peyton Elizabeth Lee, star of Andi Mack. Same show Asher Angel (Billy Batson in Shazam) came from. Up for Cassandra Cain? Maybe. Again just a rumor.”

The Birds of Prey movie will be the second live-action franchise of the iconic female heroine group. Back in 2002, on the WB, there were a Birds of Prey show starring the iconic three Birds together for only a season. While both Black Canary and the Huntress have appeared on Arrow, the Arrowverse have never brought them together as the iconic trio.

Do you think Lady Gaga would have made a good fit for the film? If so, who would you have preferred she play, Black Canary or Huntress? Sound off in the comments below and continue to stay tuned on That Hashtag Show for all the latest in geek pop culture!
