Paramount tweeted a jaw dropping “first look” from the film the new Terminator movie along with a new release date. We’ve known since September that Linda Hamilton and Schwarzenegger would step back into their iconic roles, but not much has been seen of Hamilton’s Sarah Conner since 1991… until now. And the wait was totally worth it, it looks like her character has used her down time to make her self even more of bad-ass than she was before!
Writing can be hard. Writing SARAH CONNOR was a blast. Also a privilege & an honor.
Guess what her first line in the movie is?
Can't tell you. Sorry. But you're going to LOVE it.
And seriously, LOOK AT HER.

Along for the ride is Mackenzie Davis as Grace, the new time traveling guardian, who some seem to think (including me) might be a little bit cyborg/Terminator. After killing it in Halt and Catch Fire, I’m on board to see what Davis brings to the Terminator Franchise in whatever form she takes. Her symmetrical scarring with silver undertones (literally) are what lead theorists to believe she is not all human.
Rounding out the trio is Natalia Reyes, who is playing the possible torch bearer for Sarah Conner, Dani Ramos. Not pictured is our new female Terminator antagonist herself, Gabriel Luna.
Some say, this photo is in response to the controversy of a movie with 4 female stars and 8 male writers/producers. The film is directed by Tim Miller with David Ellison, Josh Friedman, David S. Goyer, Tim Miller, Billy Ray, Justin Rhodes all having writing credit in various forms, and James Cameron and David Ellison producing. That’s a lot of dudes.
In addition to the image, Paramount has moved the release date from July 27, 2019 to November 22, 2019. This will be the first of a new trilogy of Terminator films and a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day. We don’t know if it will use time travel shenanigans to erase T3,T4, and T5, but T6 is looking strong.
Writer, Billy Ray followed up the image with a tweet of his own, saying, “Writing can be hard. Writing SARAH CONNOR was a blast. Also a privilege & an honor. Guess what her first line in the movie is?

If I had to guess, I’d say her first line is going to be “Come with me if you want to live.” and I will follow this Sarah Conner into theaters as if my life depended on it!
