With Star Wars Resistance airing this fall, the official synopsis has been released online courtesy of Disney XD Germany. So far, all we know about Resistance is it will be taking place during the event of Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens. Oscar Issac and Gwendoline Christie are set to be returning to voice Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma, respectively. And BB-8 will also be appearing in the series.
Now the title for the first episode, along with the synopsis has been released on the German website Fernsehserien. They also noted that the first season will have 22 episodes, and the title for the first episode is “The Recruit.” And prominent German Star Wars fan JediFlorian took to Twitter to translate out the synopsis.
Resistance fighter Poe Dameron tasks young pilot Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono with spying on the First Order. At the time, little was known about the secretive organization and its strength.
In order to fulfill his mission, Kaz travels to the space station Colossus, which is being used by many ships as a port to refuel and do repairs. However, there are also dangerous races taking place there. After Kaz bragged with his piloting skills at his arrival there, he is soon drawn into one of the races…
So this confirms that the show will take place between Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens. And this timeline is still relativity not explored that much in the Star Wars Cannon. But, Claudia Grey’s Bloodline novel does hint at the impending emergence of the First Order. And it ends with Leia forming the Resistance. So, it definitely seems like that Resistance will be picking up shortly after that. It also seems like, in the series, the Resistance is attempting to learn everything they can about the mysterious new galactic power.
When Dave Filoni had first announced the series, he made a strange observation and pointed out that “There’s a long history of high-speed racing in Star Wars.” So that could be implying the series will be following that tradition. This synopsis does hint at how that could happen. I mean Kaz is a spy in this show, and his cover is being a high-speed racer. And the Colossus Space Station seems to be a brand-new addition to the Star Wars Galaxy. And the only previous Colossus is a planet in the Belgaroth sector.
So with this, it definitely seems like fand and viewers will be able to see what life under the First Order is like through Kaz’s eyes.
