The King of Atlantis has arrived! Okay, so technically he arrived last year in the painfully awful Justice League, but for the sake of my sanity I’m going to pretend that movie doesn’t exist. Regardless, this year sees the premiere of the first solo film for Aquaman, and during Warner Bros. Hall H panel at San Diego Comic Con we finally got to feast our eyes on the first trailer for the spectacular, Jason Momoa-starring undersea fantasy that director James Wan has cooked up.

As a years-long, unironic fan of Aquaman, it brings me great joy to know that global audiences will finally have a chance to see how awesome Aquaman can be when the character is presented in the right context. Most peoples’ impressions of Aquaman seem to stem from the old Superfriends show, except not even from the show itself, but from salty memes about Aquaman from that show; people just haven’t been exposed to Arthur Curry and his world in the same way they have been to Batman and Superman’s.
That all changes in December, and this Aquafan couldn’t be more excited. That trailer looks great, presenting a sci-fied vision of Atlantis that looks spectacular. There’s plenty of humor present, which between Wonder Woman, this, and the Shazam trailer released today, makes me think Warners has definitely learned from the mistakes of the Zack Snyder era. Bring on more skydiving, yahooing Aquaman.
Aquaman hits theaters December 21, 2018. What do you think about the trailer? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to the site for all of our Comic Con 2018 updates. Ty Rattie Womens Jersey
