Undoubtedly the hottest Star Wars author right now is Claudia Gray.  Author of Lost Stars, Bloodlines and Leia, her books are must reads.  Her new book is actually a bit of surprise.  It is going back to the early prequel era.  It will be titled “Master & Apprentice.”  If you are thinking a book about Obi-Wan and his young Padawan, little Anakin, you are half right.  This book will be about Master Qui-Gonn Jinn and a young Obi-Wan Kenobi.  No release date or description are available at this time, but given how deftly Claudia handles not only the Star Wars characters, but politics as well, this book could cover a wide number of issues and relationships.

E.K. Johnston, author of the “Ahsoka” junior novel is writing “Queen’s Shadow” about a young Padme after her tenure as queen.  “When Padmé Naberrie, “Queen Amidala” of Naboo, steps down from her position, she is asked by the newly-elected queen to become Naboo’s representative in the Galactic Senate. Padmé is unsure about taking on the new role, but cannot turn down the request to serve her people. Together with her most loyal handmaidens, Padmé must figure out how to navigate the treacherous waters of politics and forge a new identity beyond the queen’ shadow.  “When Padmé Naberrie, “Queen Amidala” of Naboo, steps down from her position, she is asked by the newly-elected queen to become Naboo’s representative in the Galactic Senate. Finally we have a 5-issue comic book series from Cavan Scott called “Tales From Darth Vader’s Castle.”  We knew after Rogue One, Vader’s Castle would show up again in one form or another.  The interesting thing here is the time frame that will be covered over these comics.  It will use characters such as  Kanan, and Chopper; Obi-Wan Kenobi and Count Dooku; Han Solo and Chewbacca; and Ewoks!?  Check out Starwars.com for a look at the covers.  Look for these comics this fall. Brent Urban Authentic Jersey
