Numan Acar, the Turkish-born actor who will appear as Hakeem in Disney’s live-action Aladdin remake, has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Though little is known about Acar’s role, Deadline reports he will portray a character named “Dimitri.”

Spidey fans will no dobut began speculating immediately that Acar’s Dimitri is likely Dmitri Smerdyakov, aka the Chamelon. First appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 in 1963 when he impersonated Spider-Man, the Chameleon is known for both is covert skills and his ability to nearly flawlessly imitate others. Trained by the KGB, Smerdyakov, and his half-brother Kraven the Hunter, have been thorns in the side of Peter Parker for decades.

Should Acar be confirmed as Chameleon, he would be yet another member of the comic book Sinister Six to join the MCU in what appears to be an attempt to finally realize Sony’s long-gestating plan to bring the villainous team to the big screen. We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
