E3 2018: Square Enix Press Conference Was Just A Showcase Of Trailers

EA might be able to breathe a sigh of relief as Square Enix can now take the crown as the latest dud of E3. The phoned in press conference showcased several trailers, including a replay of Kingdom Hearts 3, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and a new title called The Quiet Man. Square Enix develops some of the most popular games in history, yet their return to E3 after a three year absence was tragically uneventful. If you were looking for news on the Final Fantasy remake, or The Avengers title then you’re out of luck. Hopefully these several trailers will build up your anticipation as you wait for their release.

KINGDOM HEARTS III

Starting to get some fatigue here with Kingdom Hearts III! I’m going to chalk up its rough looking graphics to its stage in production. Anyway, aside from the reveal of the Ratatouille stage, this trailer isn’t much different from the one presented during Microsoft’s E3 conference.

JUST CAUSE 4

We did receive some gameplay of the upcoming Just Cause. If you like destruction, and weaponry then this one’s for you. #madmax

FINAL FANTASY XIV X MONSTER HUNTER

If you want to talk about massive teamups then let’s talk about how Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy are taking their gameplay up a notch with this move. The former will be showing up in the world of Final Fantasy, and has collaborated before with Street Fighter, and Horizon Zero Dawn. This epic event will take place later this summer.

THE QUIET MAN

What…is…this….trailer?? What is the premise? Who is The Quiet Man?? Why does this switch from live action to in game footage? This is so bad and intriguing at the same time.

BABYLON’S FALL

Another trailer presented with vague news, but at least it’s a new title announcement.

DRAGON QUEST XI

SHADOW OF THE TOMB RAIDER

Square Enix has been churning out this reboot series like butter, and it’s been quite successful. The visuals are stunning and one can’t help but wonder just WHY Lara keeps going on these adventures, and HOW she comes out of it unscathed. It would be really interesting to see a Telltale version of this 20+ year franchise.
