*WARNING* INFINITY WAR SPOILERS!
If your soul was crushed when Thanos turned Drax the Destroyer into Drax the Destroyed (too soon?) in Avengers: Infinity War, you’ll be delighted to know that Dave Bautista has revealed that his fan favorite character will be resurrected for the 4th Avengers film, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol 3.
“I got a lot of texts saying ‘I can’t believe you’re dead, your character is dead.’ They were really, like, heartbroken, and I was like ‘I’m gonna be in four. I’m gonna be in Guardians 3.'” Bautista discussed his future with the Marvel Cinematic Universe during an interview to promote his upcoming film, Hotel Artemis. “I don’t know how they’re bringing me back, yeah but somehow I’m going to make it, because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back.”
While Bautista seems confident that Drax’s days defending the galaxy are far from over, fans can only speculate for now as to how, and in what capacity, the mighty Guardian will be added back into the Marvel mix.
With this excellent bit of news, I’m sure the question on many of our minds is the same: Will others who fell victim to Thanos be given a similar resurrection? Time will tell!
